André Jurres (°1963) has a technical and marketing background. He has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of media, multimedia, telecommunications and energy. He specialised in handling multimedia en turnkey projects in the early part of his career, thereafter became spearheaded new telecom companies in France and the Netherlands as CEO for Telecom Finland International, Belgacom and KPN mobile.
In November 2001, André Jurres founded WattPlus to start selling energy on the Belgian market and actively work towards the successful liberalisation of the Belgian energy market. From September 2002 until September 2006, he was CEO of Essent Belgium.Today he is developing new energy activities in the area of production as co-founder of NPG energy(since 2007) and giving advice to the local governments in relation to energy questions towards the progress of a better liberalization.   Author of several studies such as “Back to the Future”(about clean coal technologies) and the Price of nuclear(in light of the Belgium decision to leave or nuclear plants open for a longer period).
