Copenhagen concert over and out

The 50.000 fans of climate that participated at the longest concert in history over two weeks have just had the largest anti-climax possible. The audience has not asked for another song of their hero Obama. The 15000 “active” participants have worked very hard to produce a three page document after two years of preparation. The almost 180 climate ministers also proved that not one of them had one or at least a vision on which a common strategy could be build. It is strange that the media expected detailed results before even a common strategy has been agreed among all countries. Nobody understands the real baseline about the climate, a famous president in the nineties said it; “it’s the Economy, stupid”. If we want to achieve a real common goal than the best bet is an economical one, especially in light of the BRIC countries who will not accept a slower growth for their countries. If we can’t find a common formula for a sustainable economy and as such define the path towards this than we will not have a solution. It is fortunate that individuals and certain companies have taken the step to lead by example as I believe more in individual examples which the media will write about. We have to change the way we life and for this we don’ t a global agreement.
The prosperity we have known up to the present is the consequence of rapidly spending the planet’s irreplaceable capital. (Aldous Huxley)
